BC Food Donor Encouragement Act

Interested in donating food, but uncertain about liability risks?  There are a lot of common misconceptions.  Please refer to the BC Food Donor Encouragement Act, which can be found at

We accept

- packaged perishable and non-perishable food items
- fresh produce (including local farm “seconds”)
- prepared food dishes and canned goods, if prepared in a commercial kitchen under Food Safe certified supervision and proper food handling guidelines
- farm eggs of all sizes and colours

We cannot accept

- stale/hard breads
- open, bulging or compromised damaged products
- food with severe freezer burn or decay
